Section 56: Arrest, investigation and prosecution of criminal cases. Cap. C23, LFN, 2004 Act No. 13, 2015.

Subject to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, a police officer or other relevant law enforcement agencies shall have power under this Act to-(a) arrest and investigate offenders ; or
(b) prosecute cases.
