Section 101: Penalty on pilot endangering a ship

1999Section 101 of 128Federal Republic of Nigeria

A pilot who, when in charge of a ship-(a) by wilful breach of duty, neglect of duty or reason of drunkenness, does an act tending-
(i) to the immediate loss,destruction or serious damage of ship;or
(ii) immediately to endanger the life or limb of person on board the ship;or
(b) refuses or fails to do a lawful act proper and requisite to be done by him for preserving-
(i) the ship from loss, destruction or serious damage; or
(ii) a person on board the ship, from danger to life or limb, is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction, to imprisonment for a term of three years.
