Section 57: Penalty for giving false statement

A person who makes, whether knowingly or recklessly, any statement which is false in any material particular in any claim or other document which is requested or authorised to be made by or under this Act or any regulation under this Act, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding N800,000.00 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months or to both such imprisonment and fine.
