Section 34: Penalties

(1)
A person who violates any of the provisions of this part commits an offence and is liable on conviction to any one or combination of the penalties provided in subsection (2) of this section.
(2)
The applicable fines for any violation of the provision of this Part are, in the case of--
(a)
a political candidate, party, or campaign, a fine of not less than N10,000,000.00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than 10 years or both;
(b)
a business in the tobacco industry, a fine of not less than N10,000,000,00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than 12 years;
(c)
a public office holder, a fine of not less than N500,000,00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than seven years; and
(d)
any other person, a fine of not less than N500,000.00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than 7 years or both.
