Section 30: Measures to prevent illicit trade in tobacco products

(1)
The responsible authority shall, by regurations, prescribe appropriate measures to prevent illicit trade in tobacco products.
(2)
A person who violates any of the provisions of regulations made under this Part shall be subject to any one or a combination of penalties provided in sub-section (3) of this section.
(3)
Applicable fine for violation of regulations made under this part are, in the case of-
(a)
a tobacco manufacturer or importer, upon conviction, a fine of not less than N 10,000,000.00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than 10 years or both; and
(b)
any other person, upon conviction, to a fine of not less than N5,000,000.00 and a term of imprisonment of not more than 5 years or both.
