Section 29: Application for licence

(1)
No person shall manufacture, import or distribute tobacco or tobacco products except the person has obtained a licence or is authorised in writing by the Minister;
Provided that a person who has duly obtained a licence in accordance with the repealed Act is deemed to have obtained such licence under this Act.
(2)
The Minister may, by regulation published in the official Gazete, prescribe the method, conditions for grants and revocation and other requirements for licensing under this Act.
(3)
The provision of this section does not apply to a retailer of tobacco or tobacco products.
