Section 2: Objectives

The objectives of this Act are to-(a) repeal the Federal Colleges of Education Act Cap. F8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004;
(b) enact a uniform Federal Colleges of Education Act to regulate the Federal Collages of Education in Nigeria through a uniform legal framework with modern provisions that are up-to-date with current educational realities;
(c) situate Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria in the current States of the Federation where they are located;
(d) provide the legal basis for the award of diplomas and degrees; and
(e) give the Colleges powers to expand the scope of the curriculum of the Colleges to degree awarding institutions.
