Section 3: Establishment and composition of the Governing Council of the College.

(1) There is established for the College the Governing Council (in this Act referred to as "the Council").
(2) The Council shall consist of-
(a) a Chairman who shall be
(i) a Fellow of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, and
(ii) appointed by the President.
(b) a representative each of the Federal Ministries responsible for-
(i) health, and
(ii) education;
(c) a representative of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria;
(d) two persons, at least one of whom shall be a woman, selected on their personal merit based on their contributions either to the development of medical laboratory science or their special interest in medical science education;
(e) the Provost of the College; and [Schedule]
(f) a representative of the Academic Board of the College.
(3) The Supplementary Provisions set out in the Schedule to this Act shall have effect with respect to the proceedings of the Council and other matters contained in it.
