STANDARDS ORGANISATION OF NIGERIA ACT

Section 1: Establishment of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

(1) There is hereby established a body to be known as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

(2) The Organisation shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.

(3) The Organisation shall consist of-
(a) Director-General of Standards;
(b) Directors;
(c) Secretary of the Organisation; and
(d) such other staff as may be required to assist the Director-General in the performance of the duties of the Organisation under this Act.

(4) The Director-General shall be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Minister.

(5) The appointment, remunerations and other conditions of service of the Directors and other staff of the Organisation shall be as determined or prescribed by the Council after consultation with the Federal Civil Service Commission.
