Section 24: Payment of retention fees.

(1) Where any premises has been entered in the register of premises, a retention fee in the amount prescribed by the Council in respect of the type of pharmacy practice being carried on at the premises, shall be payable to the Council every subsequent year by the person carrying on the pharmacy practice in the premises.
(2) A retention fee shall become due on the first day of January of each year.
(3) Where the person carrying on pharmacy practice at any premises entered in the register of premises fails to pay the retention fee in respect of any year by 31 March, the Council may close the premises and remove the name from the register of premises.
(4) Where the person in default of payment of retention fees under subsection (2), pays before the end of the year in default, together with additional sum, the Registrar shall restore the name of the premises to the register and the restoration shall be deemed to have had effect as from the date on which the premises was removed from the register of premises.
