Section 53: Offences by body corporate

Where an offence under this Act has been committed by a body corporate, and is proven to have been committed with the consent or connivance of, or attributable to any neglect on the part of any Director, Manager, Secretary or other similar officer of the body corporate or any person purporting to act in any of those capacities, the -(a) person is liable on conviction to a fine not more than N500,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than six months; and
(b) body corporate is liable on conviction to a fine not more than N5,000.000.
