Section 52: Obstructing or hindering the investigation of a transportation occurrence

(1) A person shall not obstruct the investigation of any transportation occurrence by the Bureau.
(2) Any person who contravenes the provision of subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction -
(a) in the case of an individual, to a fine not more than N500,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than six months or both; and
(b) in the case of a body corporate, a fine not more than N 1,000,000 and shall during the subsistence of the offence, be liable to an additional fine for each day the offence continues -
(i) in the case of a corporation, N 100,000, and
(ii) in the case of a person acting in the capacity of an officer or representative of the organisation, where the offence was committed, N50,000 only.
