NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION ACT
Section 9: Appointment, etc., of Director-General of the Commission
(1)
There shall be appointed by the President for the Commission, a Director-General, who shall carry out the duties specified in subsection (2) of this section and perform such other duties, as may be directed by the Commission, from time to time.

(2) The Director-General shall-
(a)
be the accounting officer and the professional and administrative head of the Commission;

(b) co-ordinate the professional and administrative functions of the Commission;
(c)
assist the chairman in ensuring that all the rules and regulations relating to the management of the human material and financial resources of the Commission, are adhered to in accordance with the objectives of the Federal Government;

(d) be responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Commission;
(e) contribute to policy recommendations meant for the attention of the chairman of the Commission;
(f) ensure compliance with the performance and efficiency targets set for every department in the Commission;
(g) evaluate the annual performance of Directors;
(h)
perform any other functions as the chairman or the Commission may, from time to time, assign to him.
