Section 2: Establishment and membership of the Governing Board.

(1) There is established for the Agency a Governing Board (in this Act referred to as "the Board").
(2) The Board shall consist of -
(a) a Chairman, who shall be-
(i) appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Minister, and
(ii) a person who is capable of making outstanding contribution to the field of biotechnology by reason of his ability, experience or specialized knowledge of biotechnology;
(b) a representative each of the Federal Ministries responsible for -
(i) science and technology,
(ii) Agriculture and Rural Development,
(iii) finance,
(iv) health,
(iv) environment,
(v) industry, trade and investment, and
(vii) education;
(c) two other persons with specialised knowledge in biotechnology; and
(d) the Director-General of the Agency who shall be the Secretary of the Board.
(3) First Schedule.
The supplementary provisions set out in the First Schedule to this Act shall have effect with respect to the proceedings of the Board and other matters as set out.
