Section 416: Cost of detaining ship

2007Section 416 of 445Federal Republic of Nigeria

Where a ship is held under any provision of this Act requiring detention untiI the happening of a certain event, the owner of the ship shall be liable to pay to the Federal Government the costs of and incidental to the detention and survey, if any, of the ship and those costs shall, without prejudice to any other remedy, be recoverable in the same manner as salvage is recoverable.
