Section 412: Power of a court or tribunal in trying offences

ln trying an offence under this part of this Act, a court or tribunal-
(a)
shall not impose any higher sentence than the court or tribunal is empowered to impose under its ordinary jurisdiction; and
(b)
may, and if so required by a party shall sit with any person experienced in maritime affairs as assessor.
