LEGISLATIVE HOUSES (POWER AND PRIVILEGES) ACT
Section 17: Power of arrest.
An officer of a Legislative House may, without an order from a magistrate and without a warrant, arrest-(a) any person who commits any offence contrary to section 15 or 16 of this Act in his presence;
(b) any person within the Chamber or precincts of the Legislative House whom he reasonably suspects of having committed an offence contrary to either of the said sections.
