Section 96: Compounding of fees.

Without prejudice to the power of the Attorney-General of the Federation, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to continue or discontinue criminal proceedings against any person in any Court of law and the Commission may compound any offence punishable under this Act by accepting such sums of money as it thinks fit, not exceeding the amount of the maximum line to which that person would have been liable if he had been convicted of the offence.
