Section 19: Function of College Librarian and tenure
(1) The Librarian shall be responsible to the Provost for the administration of each College Library and co-ordination of the library services in the teaching units of each College.
(2) A Librarian shall hold office for a single term of five years only, beginning from the effective date of the appointment and on the terms and conditions as may be specified the letter of appointment.
(3) If, on the commencement of this section a Librarian appointed before the commencement of this Act has held office form-
(a) less than five years, he shall be deemed to be serving the five-year single term and does not have the right to the renew his appointment for a further term of five years;
(b) more than five years and serving the second term of office, the Librarian shall be deemed to be serving his last term of office, without further extension.
