CONSUMER PROTECTION COUNCIL ACT
Section 5: Duty of State Committee
The State Committee shall, subject to the control of the Council-(a) receive complaints and enquiries into the causes and circumstances of injury, loss or damage suffered or caused by a company, firm, trade, association or individual;
(b) negotiate with the parties concerned and endeavour to bring about a settlement; and
(c) where appropriate, recommend to the Council the payment of compensation by the offending person to the injured consumer.
