Section 28: Designation for ports for special entry.
(1) The Minister, in consultation with the Minister of Finance, may, from time, to time, for the purpose of standardization, on the recommendation of the Director-General, by order published in the Frderal Gazette, designate any port for importation into Nigeria of the product specified in the order and in such case, the products named in the order shall be imported into Nigeria through only the designated port.
(2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) of this section commits an offence under this Act and is liable on conviction to a fine of not less than N2,000,000.00 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both.
(3) Where a person is convicted of an offence under this section, the court may make an order of forfeiture or destruction of the products in question.
