Section 24: Interpretation

In this Act -
"Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council;
"School" means the School of Mines and Geological Studies established in section 1 of this Act and "Schools" shall be construed accordingly;
"Council" means the Governing Council of the School established in section 2 of this Act;
"Congregation" means academic and non-academic staff of the School holding first degrees or higher national diplomas;
"functions" includes powers and duties;
"member" means a member of Council including the Chairman;
"Minister" means the Minister responsible for matters relating to education; and
"Rector" means the Rector of the School appointed in section 10 of this Act.
