Section 5: Establishment of certain bodies

For the purposes of the initiation, preparation and implementation of the National physical development plans, the Federal, State and local governments shall establish and maintain respectively-(a) a National Urban and Regional Planning Commission (hereafter in this Act referred to as "the Commission");
(b) a State Urban and Regional Planning Board (hereafter in the Act referred to as "the Board") in each of the States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory. Abuja; and
(c) a Local Planning Authority (hereafter in this Act referred to as "the Authority") in each of the local government areas and the area councils of the Federation.
