Section 5: Recognition as Voluntary Aid Society

(1) The Society shall be recognised by the Government of the Federation as a Voluntary Aid Society, auxiliary to the public authorities, for the purposes of the said conventions and shall have the right to have and use in carrying out its purposes as an emblem and badge a red cross with vertical and horizontal arms of the same length on and completely surrounded by a white ground.
(2) The Society is hereby authorised, with or without the co-operation of any other society, organisation or association which may have been accorded similar powers by an Act of the National Assembly, to act in matters of relief under the said conventions.
