Section 59: Grant of Exploration Licence.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Mining Cadastre Office shall, upon receipt of a valid application from a qualified applicant, grant and issue to that person, an exploration licence within thirty days of the filing of such application ;
(2) An exploration licence shall not be granted over any land that is subject to an existing exploration licence, mining lease, small scale rnining lease or quarry lease.
(3) An exploration licence shall not be granted in respect of an area exceeding 200 square kilometres.
