Section 30: A person who no longer meets criteria for involuntary care.
(1) Where it is determined that a person no longer fulfills the criteria for involuntary care or admission, he shall immediately be discharged.
(2) The provision of subsection (1) shall apply irrespective of whether the person has been in involuntary care for a period less than 28 days.
(3) Any person who contravenes any provision of this section commits an offence and in the case of-
(a) a natural person, is liable on conviction to a fine of at least N1,000,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than five years or both; or
(b) a corporate person, is liable on conviction to a fine of at least N5,000,000.
