Section 46: Establishment of a Standards Committee, etc.

(1) There is hereby established, for the purposes of this Act, a Standards Committee which shall be charged with the responsibility of recommending to the Scheme guidelines for the maintenance of quality assurance among health maintenance organisations and health care providers under the Scheme and shall consist of -
(a) a Chairman;
(b) the Chairmen of regulatory and registration boards or councils of the health related professional bodies established by law; and
(c) the registrars of the boards and councils referred to in paragraph (b) of this subsection.
(2) The members of the Standard Committee shall be appointed by the Council.
(3) The Standards Committee may make rules regulating its own proceedings.
