Section 16: Application for accreditation and license.

(1) Without prejudice to the right of a State to establish a health scheme under section 13 of this Act, a person or group shall not operate a health insurance scheme of any type in Nigeria unless it has been registered with the Authority and issued a license for that purpose.
(2) Application for accreditation and license to operate a health insurance scheme shall be made to the Authority in a form to be prescribed by the Authority.
