Section 49: Use of Tissue Blood products removed or withdrawn from living persons

(1)
Subject to the provision of section 52 of this Act, a person shall use tissue removed or blood or a blood product withdrawn from a living person only for such medical or dental purposes as may be prescribed.
(2)
A person who contravenes or fails to comply with the provisions of this section commits an offence and liable on conviction in the case of-
(a)
tissue, a fine of N1,000,000 or imprisonment of not less than two years or both; and
(b)
blood or blood products, a fine of N100,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or both.
