Section 440: Consequential amendments

2007Section 440 of 445Federal Republic of Nigeria

(1)
Reference in any other Act or written law to the Shipping Laws or any subsidiary legislation made thereunder shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as references to the same or similar provisions of this Act or, as the case may be, of any subsidiary legislation made or deemed to be made thereunder or therefor.
(2)
Unless the context otherwise requires, references in any other Act or written law to a ship registered in Nigeria shall, be deemed to include references to a Nigerian licensed ship.
(3)
Unless the context otherwise requires, references in any other Act or written law to a British ship shall, be construed as references to a Commonwealth ship other than a Nigerian ship.
