Section 396: Duty to provide security
(1)
Any person liable for a payment under this part of this Act shall, upon the request of the salvor, provide satisfactory security for the claim including interests, and costs of the salvor.
(2)
Without prejudice to subsection (1) of this section, the owner of the salved vessel shall ensure that the owners of the cargo provide satisfactory security for the claims against them, including interests and costs before the cargo is released.
(3)
The salved vessel and other property shall not, without the consent of the salvor, be removed from the port or place at which the vessel and other property first arrived after the completion of salvage operations untiI the provisions of subsection (1) of this section have been complied with.
