Section 331: Appointment of surveyors

(1)
For the purposes of this Act, the Minister may appoint duly qualified persons within or outside Nigeria as surveyors to survey and measure ships.
(2)
The Minister may, by regulations, nominate any person within or outside Nigeria to be a classification society for the purposes of this Act and any classification society so nominated may appoint any person to survey and measure ships under and for the purposes of this Act, subject to such conditions as the Minister may impose.
