Section 129: Time of payment of wages for Nigerian ship other than a foreign-going ship
(1)
The owner or master of every Nigerian ship, other than a foreign-going ship, shall pay to each seaman his wages within two days after the termination of the agreement with the crew, or at the time when the seaman is discharged, whichever first occurs.
(2)
If the owner or master of a ship fails, without reasonable cause, to make payment at the time prescribed under subsection (1) of this section, he shall pay to the seaman a sum not exceeding the amount of two days pay for each of the days during which payment is delayed but the sum payable shall not exceed ten days double pay.
(3)
Any sum payable under this section may be recovered as wages.
