Section 120: Mode of providing for return

(1)
A distressed seaman may be sent to a proper return port by any reasonable route by land, sea or air or by any two or more of these modes of travel, in accordance with subsection (2) of this section.
(2)
Provisions shall, where practicable, be made for the return ofthe distressed seaman by sea as to the whole or any part of the route by:
(a)
placing the seaman on board any ship which is in want of seaman to make up its complements;
(b)
providing the seaman with a passage on any ship or with the money for his passage on any such ship; and
(c)
as to any part of the route which is by land or by air, paying the expenses of the journey of the seaman and of his maintenance during the journey or providing him with means to pay those expenses.
