Section 14: Offences and penalties.

(1) A person who is not registered by the Institute but holds himself out as a registered member of the Institute commits an offence.
(2) A person who for the purpose of procuring registration as a member of the Institute makes false -
(a) claim as to his qualifications or experiences, or
(b) entry or willfully falsifies the register,
Commits an offence.
(3) A person who commits an offence under this Act is liable on conviction -
(a) for an individual, to a fine not more than N500,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than six months or both; or
(b) for a corporate organisation, to a fine of at least Nl,000,000.
(4) The Council shall carry out the review under subsection (3) every five years.
