Section 27: Civil remedies and sanctions of the court
Notwithstanding the express provisions of this Act relating to the imposition of criminal sanctions, where the court decides that an individual or group has been unfairly discriminated against, the court may make any appropriate order that is just and equitable in the circumstances including -
(a)
Notwithstanding the express provisions of this Act relating to the imposition of criminal sanctions, where the coun decides that an individual or group has been unfairly discriminated against, the court may make any appropriate order that is just and equitable in the circumstances including.
(b)
payment of damages to the affected person or group ;
(c)
an order directing the individual or institution to take steps ro prevent discrimination or other contraventions occurring in the future in respect of others ; or
(d)
an order directing the deregistration of a corporate body or withdrawal of an individual professional license.
