Section 1: Establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences.

1 There is established the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, lyin Ekiti, Ekiti State (in this Act referred to as "the University").

2 The University shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue or be sued in its corporate name.

3 The University shall be a training institution for the development of environmental scientists and technologists in the country.

4 The University shall be supervised by the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission which shall be responsible for approving and regulating all academic programmes run in the University, to ensure quality compliance and provide funds for academic and research programmes, infrastructure and remuneration of employees.
