Section 16: Removal of members

(1) If it appears to the Council that a member (other than the members Pro-Chancellor or the Vice-Chancellor) should be removed from office on grounds of misconduct or inability to perform the functions of his office, the Council shall make a recommendation to that effect through the Minister to the Federal Executive Council and if the Federal Executive Council, after making such enquiries (if any) as may be considered necessary, approves the recommendation it may direct the removal of the member from office.
(2) The Minister shall use his best endeavors to cause a copy of the instrument embodying a direction under subsection (1) of this section to be served as soon as reasonably practicable on the person to whom it relates.
