CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED SECRETARIES AND REPORTERS OF NIGERIA ACT, 2015
Section 36: Offences and penalties
A person who-(a) for the purpose of procuring the enrolment or registration of any name, makes a statement which he believes to be false or recklessly makes a statement which is false materially,
(b) is not a member of the Institute but takes or uses any name, title or description implying that he is a member of a body affiliated to the Institute after the commencement of this Act, or
(c) being the Registrar or any other person employed by or on behalf of the Institute, wilfully makes any falsification in any matter relating to the Register, commits an offence and is liable upon-
(i) summary conviction to a fine not exceeding N5,000, or a term of imprisonment not exceeding three months, or both fine and imprisonment ;
(ii) conviction on indictment to a fine not exceeding N10,000.00, or a term of imprisonment not exceeding three months, or both fine and imprisonment.
