Section 36: Interpretation.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires-
"Appointing Authority" means the President or the Federal Republic or Nigeria;
"Board" means the Board of Directors of the National Bureau of Statistics established under section 7 or this Act;
"Bureau" means the National Bureau of Statistics established under section 5 of this Act;
"Consultative Committee" means the National Consultative Committee on Statistics;
"President" means the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria :
"Statistician-General " means the Statistician-General appointed under section 12 of this Act;
"Statistics" means information in connection with or incidental to all or any or the matters specified in the first schedule of this Act; and
"System" means the National Statistical System.
