2022Section 75 of 100Federal Republic of Nigeria

(1) Subject to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, the President may in accordance with the advice of the Executive Council of the Federation, by proclamation published in the Federal Government Gazette, declare a state of emergency in Nigeria or in any part of Nigeria as part of anti-terrorism measures.
(2) On the declaration of a state of emergency under subsection (1), the President may take such measures as he considers necessary and justifiable for the purpose of dealing with the situation that exists during the period that the state of emergency is in force.
