RETIREMENT AGE OF STAFF OF POLYTECHNICS AND COLLEGES OF EDUCATION (HARMONIZATION) ACT
Section 1: Harmonization of Staff Retirement Age
The retirement age for staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education is harmonized.
Section 2: Exemption from Public Service Rules
A law or rule requiring a person to retire from the Public Service after serving 35 years shall not apply to staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
Section 3: Retirement Age for Academic Staff
(1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Pension Reform Act, the compulsory retirement age of an academic staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education shall be 65 years.
(2) A law or rule requiring a person to retire from the Public Service after serving for 35 years shall not apply to an academic staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
Section 4: Citation
This Bill may be cited as the Retirement Age of Staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education (Harmonization) Act, 2012.
