Section 17: Modifications to existing legislations

(1) The provisions of any existing law or enactment conferring pre-shipment inspection functions on the departments and agencies referred to in subsections (I), (2) and (3) of section 16 of this Act shall be read with such modifications so as to bring them into conformity with the provisions of this Act.
(2) Where any other law or enactment, including the laws referred to in subsection (1) of this section, are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, the provisions of this Act shall prevail and that other law shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, be void.
