Section 4: Power to amend the Law.
The President may by order amend any provision of the Law.
Section 5: Modification of certain provisions of the Law.
1 Until other provisions are made in that behalf by the Federal Govemment-
a all references in the Law to the Visitor shall be construed as references to the
President; and
b the power to appoint the Vice-Chancellor of the University shall vest in the
President.

Section 6 (1) of the Law is hereby repealed and all the provisions of the Law shall
be construed subject to this Act
Section 6: Interpretation.
In this Act-
"functions" includes powers and duties;
"the Council" means the Council of Obafemi Awolowo University;
"the Law" means the University of Ife Law 1970 as amended;
"the University" means Obafemi Awolowo University.
Section 7: Short title. as amended by Section 5 of the Obafemi Awolowo University (Transitional Provisions) Act (Amendment) Act, 2019.
This Act may be cited as the Obafemi Awolowo University (Transitional Provisions) Act (Amendment) Act, 2019.
