Section 1: Establishment and incorporation of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University

(1) As from the commencement of this Act, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University established by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Law 1991 (in this Act referred to as "the former law") shall continue to be known as Nnamdi Azikiwe University (in this Act referred to as "the University").

The University shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and shall have power to sue or be sued in its corporate name and to acquire, hold and dispose of movable and immovable property for the purpose of its functions under this Act.
