Section 4: Succession

(1) On the commencement of this Act, all assets, liabilities, rights and obligations of the National Maritime Authority and the Joint Maritime Labour Industrial Council shall vest in the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
(2) Any enactment, instrument or other document passed or made before the commencement of subsection (10) of this section which refers to the National Maritime Authority and the Joint Maritime Labour Industrial Council shall have effect, so far as necessary for the purposes of or in consequence of anything being transferred, as if any reference to the National Maritime Authority and the Joint Maritime Labour Industrial Council were a reference to the National Maritime Administration and Safety Agency established by this Act.
