Section 34: Exclusion of discrimination

2022Section 34 of 48Federal Republic of Nigeria

(1) Trainees shall not be required to satisfy requirements as to race, nationality including ethnic grouping, sex, place of birth or family origin, religious or political persuasion, as a condition of becoming or continuing to be a trainee at the College, the holder of any certificate of the College or of any appointment or employment at the College or a member of any body established under any of the provisions of this Act.
(2) A person shall not be subjected to any disadvantage or accorded any advantage, in the College, by reference to any of the matters specified in subsection (1).
(3) Nothing in this section shall be construed as preventing the College from imposing any disability or restriction on any person where such person willfully refuses or fails on grounds of religious or cultural belief to undertake any duty generally and uniformly imposed on all persons or any group of person which duty, having regard to the nature and the special circumstances is, in the opinion of the College, reasonably justifiable in the national interest and for the purpose of the training.
