Section 17: False information.

If any person in giving information for the purposes of this Act or any regulation thereunder, makes any statement which he knows to be false in any material particular or recklessly makes any statement which is false in a material particular, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of twelve months or to a fine of N500 or to both such imprisonment and fine.
