Section 1: Establishment of the Nigeria Police Academy.

1 There is established the Nigeria Police Academy (in this Act referred to as "the Academy").

2 The Academy shall have power to award degrees, diplomas and certificates in accordance with the highest academic standards as may be prescribed by the National Universities Commission.

3 The Academy -
a shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal:
b may sue and be sued in its corporate name; and
c may acquire, hold, purchase, mortgage and deal howsoever with property, movable or immovable, real or personal, subject to the provisions of the Land Use Act.
