Section 16: Penalties for non-compliance

(1)
A person who violates any of the provisions of this part is liable on conviction to the applicable penalties provided in subsection (2) of this section.
(2)
The applicable penalties for the violation of the provisions of this Part are-
(a)
where a person fails to post the prescribed signage-
(i) in the case of an individual, a fine of not less than N200,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than 1year or both, and
(ii) in the case ofcorporate entity,a fine of not less than N100,000.00 ; or
(b)
where a person violates the provisions of Section 15 (1), (3), (5) and (7) -
(i) in the case of an individual, a fine less than N200,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than 1 year or both, and
(ii) in the case of a corporate entity, a fine of not less than N 100,000.00.
